The Communications Practice in Brussels provides strategic PR and PA counsel for leading consumer and corporate brands active in a wide range of industries. The team’s work includes corporate brand positioning, traditional and social media relations, crisis management, reputation management, corporate social responsibility and stakeholder engagement.
The position:
As Account Director you will be responsible for managing and growing key Belgian corporate client relationships and your team’s account portfolio. With your understanding of the Belgian market you will be expected to develop Weber Shandwick’s PR and Belgian PA business. This includes building strategic communication and stakeholder engagement programs aligned with the client’s goals. You can effectively delegate projects to your team, motivate and offer counsel to team members and allocate agency resources in accordance with the client’s budget. Your client-oriented attitude should result in top-notch counsel and meet the highest quality standards in the industry.
Ideal Candidate profile:
The ideal candidate should have 6 years of communications experience, preferably but not necessarily in an agency environment and hold at least a Bachelor’s degree. Experience with a wide variety of PR- and PA-programs in (international/global) companies, and a solid experience in corporate communications is expected. You should have excellent communication skills, strong digital and traditional media relations skills and excellent client service skills. A background in new business development and strong people management capabilities is required. Candidates with extensive experience in the financial services industry will be highly considered. You should have a proven aptitude to solve problems, handle crises, and make quick decisions. You should have an exceptional client service record and the ability to interact with senior management in client organizations. Preference for a native Dutch speaker and fluent in French and English.

The Digital Strategist Brussels is a new role that will be responsible for leading the growth and development of the digital offering in the Brussels office. The role will report into the CEO.
The leader will be expected to inspire and inject digital innovation into the heart of the operation, and work alongside the local practice heads in Brussels, the EMEA digital team and the global practice.
This individual will help drive Weber Shandwick’s digital new business within Brussels, build the profile of the office/practice in the digital area and spearhead a cultural shift in the agency to bring people on in terms of their approach to digital and technology.
